Building institutional spaces to cultivate the next generation of thought leaders and changemakers.
India's democratic fabric continues to be tested by persistent and deepening social exclusions. These exclusions—rooted in caste hierarchies, religious discrimination, class inequalities, gender, and sexual orientation—impede not just individual dignity and rights, but also the country's broader developmental goals.
Despite sporadic public discourse and academic work on these issues, there remains a significant gap in sustained, interdisciplinary, and policy-relevant research that foregrounds the experiences and aspirations of marginalized communities. Furthermore, there is limited support for young professionals from these backgrounds to enter and thrive in sectors like civil society, public policy, advocacy, and social entrepreneurship.
Centre for Inclusive Futures (CIF) was created to fill this critical gap—to produce rigorous research on exclusion while cultivating the next generation of thought leaders and changemakers from marginalized communities themselves.
To build an inclusive and equitable society in India by generating knowledge, shaping public policy, and empowering marginalized voices to lead systemic change.
To serve as a platform for high-quality research, policy dialogue, and capacity-building initiatives on social exclusion with a focus on religious minorities, Dalits, Adivasis, LGBTQIA+ communities, and other structurally disadvantaged groups.
